We’re getting ready to head back to Mexico this weekend. We are stuffed to the gills with things purchased/received here, including furniture so a marvel of engineering will be needed to truss everything in the bed of my truck for the long, uphill drive back. We’ll be staying over in San Luis Potosi overnight most likely on Sunday night and getting into Guadalajara on Monday early afternoon. Then begins the process of settling into our new house, unpacking all the boxes, putting up curtains, etc.

It seems that I haven’t had the relaxing vacation I wanted. I did a lot of stuff, and I’m very happy for all I got to do, bought, people I saw, etc. but as far as lying around in my PJs watching movies or redoing this blog (!!) I seem to always have been interrupted, distracted, or otherwise not coordinated with time. I am not complaining, but I can’t help but feel the imminent approach of classes resuming, a huge drive and domestic chores ahead of us and not avoid the paradox of “I have to hurry up and finish so I can relax.” Sometimes I’d like an off switch for myself so I don’t have to feel like I have my feet on the gas and brake pedals at the same time.
