Another ‘tard who has too much time on his hands (really) just struggled through this 300 or so word post and thought he’d add his thoughts to your thoughts
I respectfully disagree with the eminent scientist above. The tech-head of the Scoble, Rubel & Calacanis-kind are less than 1% of the people who really are online. They HAVE to make some noise distinct from the rest of the crowd to retain their supposed ‘tech / social media guru’ status.
I show them the metaphorical finger and move on wishing I could do it literally too

Well said. I’ve really never cared whether anyone read my blog; it’s a purely therapeutic exercise for me, and exists for the sole purpose of letting me vent or express myself when I need to. It’s just my geeky version of a diary, really; with the difference that the paper ones I’ve started have always gotten lost, while my blog stays right there where I can find it next time I need to get something off my chest.

How many real world people do you know that even understand the concept of a blog? Most people I know don’t get it, but I expect they will come to rely on info-blogo-tainment in the future.

I am really sick of tech-heads trying to tell people what is cool so they can be above the curve. There is a whole world beyond the 5% of people who care about being nerdy cool, you know…
