We made it to Mexico, but I’m just sharing this now and back-posting some trip content. We have no internet access in the apartment and won’t for a week or so, but being the clever sneak that I am, I went wardriving and found two unsecured WLANs w/in a block of me (gotta love high student population density) so I latched on and am posting this from my truck on the curb. I’ll refrain from operating a mobile porn/warez site so as not to tip off my “host” to my presence. Haha. More soon as we climb out from a sea of boxes and when Megacable decides to finally flip the little switch to allow me to have a cable modem and basic cable.
I leave for Mexico tomorrow! I just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that I’ll be offline for probably a week or so. It’s so not cool for me to re-do the site, announce it’s brand spanking new, tease with promises of new content and then go offline, isn’t it? Well I promise as soon as I can get cable modem and/or telephone service (and bribe the install guy if I have to!) to update with pictures and all our travels and what I’m sure are going to be interesting tales from the road.
Wish us luck, safety and patience until then.
It’s finally here–the new benzo.org, now also known as mexicomedstudent.com. benzo.org will always be my domain, but I thought I’d register a new name which reflects what will almost inevitably be the ‘theme’ of the new site. It was never my intent to start a medical school blog, but it would be nearly impossible to not have that be at the forefront since that’s what my life will be consumed by. Add that to the fact that I’m in a foreign country and well, I’d be crazy not to let the content just write itself.
In a soon-to-be written post, I’ll recap what’s been happening these last few months and why I haven’t been writing, but for now, I want to launch this puppy for real. Keep coming back and checking to see what might be new. I am still playing with Drupal and especially with the CSS of the site, so expect some changes and hopefully no outages (!) over the coming weeks.
And again, if you are reading this, thanks for being a dedicated follower of my nearly non-existent site. You are either very loyal or very bored.
